Part 3-Missing Penang
Morning call was at 7am. So early sial. Had breakfast in the hotel, 8tv crews were already getting ready for the registration and stuff for the audition. Saw no John, no winson, no Desiree, but we saw Gary Yap 叶俊丞. The host for Project Superstar and 8864. Apology to Gary’s fans, I think if his last Chinese name I wrote wrongly.

While my frens were still having their breakfast, I was lepaking around the lobby alone when this 8tv guy was looking at me, at one point he finally approached me and asked in Mandarin.

Him: “Miss, are you here for the audition, do you wanna register?”
Me: “Oh, no no. I’m here with a tour”

8TV Do I look like I was there for audition? Coz my fren said I dressed like it. Perhaps I could have tried auditioning and maybe sing some FIR songs. Takde makeup macam mane nak masuk tv? Joking. Hahahaha~

Anyway, I wanted to buy Him Heang Tau Sah Piah for my family and relatives but we couldn’t locate the shop earlier (the tour guide said he doesn’t know where and I think I know why he said so, but somehow I managed to find out myself much later) So I went on my own to find Tau Sah Piah. It was nice wandering along Penang street. Luckily there was a shop selling local product and it was opened before the gathering time which was at 9.30am.

Street Top Right: View from my hotel room. Bottom pics: The quiet morning streets in Penang.

We proceeded to Sleeping Buddha and Burmese Temple then. Bought a damn nice wooden handbag for myself outside the temple and somemore souvenirs for my sis and bro. Lily, my colleague, and her bro’s gf bought handbags too after knowing that i “kill price” (Direct translation from Chinese, means bargaining) Wahahaha. Btw, it felt like being in Thailand again man.

Sea food lunch in Bintan I think, Seberang Perai. Then we bid farewell to my fren who was gonna go back to Ipoh.

We stopped in Tapah to buy some Jambu tanpa biji there. Reached Melaka about 8pm. Or was it 9pm? Can’t remember. Guess i will be going to Penang again soon.

Returning Home I actually not as lembik as ppl think ;p I can carry all these stuff down the bus know. Hehehe..

Might put all pics in my webshots. Then anyone who is interested can see from there. If I upload, will give you the link here later. If not, friendster is the temp solution to it. Anwyay, I showed the pics from my cam to interested colleagues and one thing in common they said was these 4 words “Wat also you snapped 什么都拍” Yeah I know. Hehehe..and they said the pic of me and Winson is nice. And that I untung having a photo as such…oh yake? Hmmmm~

Part 2-Project Superstars In Penang
Continuation from Part 1:

Yeah and we were late for a few mins already. The lift opened and I saw a guy who looked like John 黄俊源. I din really bother coz I din think its really him. Duhh…if i can turn back time, I would have squeezed into the lift.

Project Superstar FinalistsRemember this pic I posted in late Aug after the 8tv bday bash in mp? I told you that the guy on the right is the winner, didn’t i? Also, simply ake note of the guy on the left. The one with the vest on.

Reached the lobby and tadaa…a few of the Season 1 Project Superstar finalist were there, near the audition area. No fans, no bodyguards, no 8tv crews…Apa lagi, I called John from behind la, asked if we can take a pic together :) Damn he is so cute.

John Oh yeah, we talked abit.

Winson This is Winson. He is the first runner up for the male category. Yeah he is the guy I told you to take note of in the first pic. Macam budak kecik la he, but his voice not bad one.

After that we realized everybody has got on the bus and waited for us there. And so, we were the last 3. Who cares, its all worth it. Paiseh! What a great year 2006, took pics with JLo, Reshmonu, Serena C, Marion, Adam, Phat Fabes, John, Winson. But where is Daniel???? hehe...

To be continue in part 3. (The night in Penang and the morning after)

Part 1-Stepping On The Penang Ground
Officially my first time travelling ever since i have a job and being all on my own when it comes to paying money for food and watever :) Also, it was my first time travelling to somewhere far by bus, far in the sense that it was more than 2 hours. The only I can say about the night bus is…cool new experience, so sakit pinggang, sakit tengkok were fun enuf. Call me jakun, I dun care. Many cars on the highway, all balik kampung i guess. It was then 3.45am. Long queue at the tol. Took a pic but dun think anyone is interested in that pic though.

7.30am : First thing first, I needed to call my good good fren in penang so that he can meet us up. Our first stop was the snake temple. Oh yeah, in case you dunno, I went with a tour becoz me and my 2 frens were so desperate to go on a holiday during this LONG break and I couldn’t get a single bus ticket to penang a month ago. The only option was to go with a tour and we did.1 Gal in red shirt is my colleague. Her whole family joined the trip and coz of that, they (8 person) and us (3 person) get disc of about RM30 (Buy 10 free 1)

8am: Breakfast near Kek Lok Si Temple.
8 Laksa…nice!!!!!

8.30am: Kek Lok Si temple. Gotta walk a long way to the top.
2 Kek Lok Si Temple.

3 Then we went to the top by a inclining lift to get a closer view of the new bronze Kuan Yin Statue.

4 Bottom right: Damn steep. Let’s putuskan the lift’s wire and let’s slide.

5Many frens have taken pics with this pig. My turn, my turn!

11am: Botanical Garden. 6 Bottom left: You might ask wat’s with the shoe thingy? Ask my photographer, his idea. Bottom right: And the star is nice, isn’t it? Simple yet interesting.

11.30: Off for lunch in one Chinese restaurant. Then it was hotel check in time. Those who watched 8TV will be aware of what was happening in Sunway Hotel on the 21st and 22nd. YES…Project Superstar Audition Season 2. Fyi, project superstar is the Chinese version of Malaysian Idol.

Board I was telling Lily : “ Dunno John (Season 1 winner) will come or not, if he does, how nice~” Then we got up to our rooms where we 4 sat down discussing where to go and what to do from 2.30pm until 6.30pm (the time to gather for dinner)

War We decided on this. The War Museum. Gosh, I tell you this place is eerie. Penakut like me takut the whole ‘adventure’ there. It is an integrated military fortress and the fort comes alive here. You can see military gadgets, artifacts and relics. The whole hutan is created for the world war 2 feel. Got nyamuk, semut, sucky weather, arghh! Guys will like it, I tell you. No doubt my 2 guy frens enjoyed a lot, I supposed. One of them took lotsa pics, I did not coz again, I admit I penakut. Real life gun sword man, gosh…I got goosebumps adi now. I will try to upload or show you guys the photos once my fren gave us the pics.

Ok I do have a few. Thanks to my photographer. I damn salute him man, those underground hiding holes he dared to masuk. I already takut like hell. You know how feaking dark is the tunnel or not..? Got kelawar terbang keluar summore, eeyer!!!

7 Top left : We went down the hill. Top Right: I duno what that is. I think he snapped the pic with flash. Bottom left : Ammunition Storage. You go inside it, you can see some ancient photos together with captions. Bottom right: Okla, this one not so scary, I ambik only la.

5pm: All sweaty, itchy, we went to my fren’s resort apartment. He took his clothes along to the hotel to bathe and changed there.

View Breathtaking view from 23rd floor.

5.30pm: Back to the hotel to bathe and get ready for dinner.

6.30pm: 3 of us were already late for about 2 or 3 mins when we reached the gathering point (lobby). The highlight of the trip then happened…wanna guess before I post part 2? Guess guess…
Happy Deepavali Salam Aidilfitri

My BOO? No, My COO!
I rarely have the time to blog anymore.

My COO..

1. Said I have a football face.
2. Gave me and my supervisor work to do 3 weeks ago (calculating training hours, training cost, training attendance for the past few years per employee) thus we’d stay back till 8 or 9pm almost every night now.
3. Called me up to his room today and gave me another new assignment ie to head a committee to conduct an ‘employee satisfaction survey’ for the Direct Labor group aka the operators. To come out with customized survey questions, implementation, analysis, discussions and suggestions.
4. Doesn’t want excuses for work not properly done.
5. Said I should be able to answer questions he asks pertaining to this assignment later.
6. Is a gentleman. He opened 3 doors for me today.
7. Expects me to perform and lead the team well for the latest project, I can imply from the looks in his eyes (joking!!)
8. Has a lot more stuff for me to blog about from now on….But many ppl I know read this, including my colleagues, therefore I can’t blog too much…:p

Genting Highlands 2006
I went to Genting with my family and relatives last weekend and it was a blast. Took photos like i have never taken photos in my life before, that is the best thing about having a cam of my own! Of coz with a photographer who can tahan to layan me. I dun have time to blog much :( But I would like to share smth I tried for the very first time- the go-kart. It’s bulan puasa so 98% were non-muslims. It also means lesser ppl, shorter queue.

DSC01181Go kart was nice.

DSC01183Not supposed to take pic while driving, but I chose to violate the unspoken rule.

I even thought of taking a photo when the space shot stopped up there for 12 seconds. Rained…space shot had to be temp closed and it so close to my turn. Dammit!!

DSC01190 Cockscrew Corkscrew wasn’t even 0.1% scary to me already and I’m juz being truthful :)

Casino. I walked in but the lady asked me “ May I juz know how old are you”. “I’m 23” “You look like 17”. (she doesn't need to remind me though)

I shall leave you with my fave pic of the weekend. For more photos, pls go to my friendster page. Btw, I’m off to another holiday destination this weekend. Travelling for 2 consecutive weekends. Be back in time for raya.

Chief Operating Officer
I can almost see the dust building up here.

I haven’t been posting anything for almost half a month. I dun blog at work anymore though coz there are a few reasons to it. I do not have internet access so if I write a blog entry, I gotta either : send the file to my yahoo mailbox (I got internet mail at work juz recently) or transfer the file to FileZilla, go to the pc in the resource center and retrieve it from there then post it online. A hell of a trouble…

Besides, I have been given some work assignments lately by my COO, I gotta unleash my potential hehe (that’s if I have hidden ones that im not aware of la hahah) I actually wanna stand out from the crowd, I dunno why. Supposed to blog a few weeks about me meeting my company’s newly hired COO aka Chief Operating Officer but….. Anyway, Cubic is in the midst of major (yes, major) restructuring. The COO got to know my existence when a few of us went for a short meeting to discuss about the launching of a Trainer’s Club. That evening, he called me to his room and gosh I was damn freaked out. We all heard nasty things about him, how he makes my manager tension; how his power so enormous he uses it so well to ‘manage’ ppl under him; how he speaks in a top management meeting; how he is so visionary he’s gonna bring about huge change in the company.

My supervisor was in KL for a training program so I was to go meet him alone the other day. I have to admit that I was kinda tensed. He told me I was the first Non-Q ppl he met. (He has been dealing with the Quality Department since he came in) He also said “I dun waste my time talking to stupid ppl..bla bla bla” Gosh, I know I am not THAT smart so it got me even more worried. He asked me about my job and it seems like he is not really contented with what I have been doing currently. He is right, I spent RM40K in MMU and all I do daily is preparing Training Needs Analysis and scheduling and coordinating training program? Hmm…i was in his office for more than an hour. It was indeed an honor to be able to sit and talk to him, I mean how many assistant officers in Cubic has that privilege man? It’s rare, really. Oh yeah he did puji me abit la ahem ahem. I hope he is right about me. Not gonna share ;p

His words are hard. He has that personality of a high-position fella. If I wasn’t being told who he is before, by talking to him I can tell he is not juz anybody but somebody. Phew. He tested me with some names so foreign to me and I had to smile and said ‘I have not heard of it’. That was really bad, other than that, I kinda enjoyed talking to him (if only I tell any cubic staff about this, they will think I’m insane) I mean his words of wisdom got me thinking the whole night, about my career path, about where I will be and stuff in the next 5 to 10 years. He too asked me what rumors I have been hearing regarding the restructuring and what I think if me and my supervisor are going to be parked under this one malay lady. We dislike her so much, but I kinda hesitated to say anything.

COO: You better tell me this now, else I wouldn’t know. Now that you have this chance to talk to me, you better do..
Me: Erm..IF we have a choice, we do not prefer to be under her. If she can manage training well back then, training and development wouldn’t be handed over to Personnel Management and there won’t be this vacancy and I won’t be sitting here now, talking to you..

Yeah I said that man. Ooops…I got it all out. OMG, but I dun regret it a bit, not even close. That’s the truth and if I did not say it, the chances are we will be working under that lady. Now that I had, I have done what I can. The ultimate decision is still very much based on his discretion.

Oh yeah, my COO is a mid age Chinese man with an American accent. Can you imagine when he says “I dun talk to STUPID ppl..” with a soft and lemah lembut tone? Oh btw juz to note, he reminds me of my ex-prom date too ;p

Suddenly I find some MEN in my company very charming and appealing *wink* These are the kind of men with stable career, high marketability, highly knowledgeable, high earning, top-positioned, fully respected…Ooh la la! Oops, sory :p

Well, at least I know I am not alone :) I guess some gals when reaching a certain age would tend to adore older men, don’t they? Some gals seek a sense of security in men (money, income, status) and some gals simply like someone who is so knowledgeable and is able to teach them a whole variety of things in life. I think I belong to the latter :) Wow, now I realize this topic can be very interesting to talk about.

Anyway, actually...I’m very scared to be on top of the ladder (that's also if i have what it takes to climb my way up la) I dunno if that's what i want at the end of the day.
